Prof. dr. Milosav Ognjanović

Ph. D. Milosav Ognjanović, head of LECAD BeogradDr. Milosav Ognjanovic was born in Plazane, Despotovac, Serbia on 23.10.1950. He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade, course Production Engineering, in 1974. He continued with his further specialisation in the field of Machine Design at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, where he earned his magister’s degree in 1977. The title of his magister’s work was “Operating Safety of Machine Systems Applied to the Axle Assembly of a Trailer”. He defended his doctoral thesis under the title “Vibrations, Noise and Measure Deviations of Gear Pairs – Research of Mutual Dependencies” in 1984, also at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade. He earned the title of a docent at this faculty in 1986, the title of an associate professor in 1991, and the title of a full professor in 1996. Since 2003, he has been the Head of the Machine Design Department. Since education module for Design in mechanical engineering founded (2005) he got Head of this education module. Since 2004 he got the member of Academy of engineering sciences of Serbia.

The fields of M. Ognjanovic’s scientific work are as follows: Design process (methods of design, decision-making in the design process, modelling); Dynamics of machine systems (operating loads, vibrations and noise of machine systems); Fatigue, destruction, reliability (fatigue, statistical estimation of the service life, degree of safety of machine parts and systems, etc.); Gears and transmission drives (vibrations, noise, dynamics, strength, design solutions). At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade and at other faculties he teaches the following subjects: Machine Elements; Machine Design; Development of machine systems; Fundamentals of product development; Reliabitity of power transmission unita.

As for international cooperation, M. Ognjanovic visited several universities in England, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Australia. He is representative of Serbia in Danubia-Adria Society for Advances in Experimental Mechanics. He was editor in chief of journal FME-Transactions and organised or participated in organiyation of several conferences.

M. Ognjanovic’s published works primarily include three monographs, 33 papers published in international journals and he presented 73 papers at international conferences and 57 domestic conferences. He has realised 16 technical solutions, participated in the realisation or managed the realisation of 24 projects of the ministries. In cooperation with and for the needs of the industry, he has realised experimental researches and presented them in 23 experimental testing reports; he also presented solved technical problems in 30 condition study reports with solutions and developed 10 design solutions – projects. For the needs of teaching at the faculties of mechanical engineering, M. Ognjanovic has written, independently or as a co-author 13 textbooks, handbooks or collections of problems, out of which two have been constantly applied in teaching: Machine Elements and Development and Machine Design. He has been cited in the SCI works 17 times and of domestic authors for more than 100 times. He guided 10 doctoral theses (2 in English) and numerous other works.
